Dutch composer Arjan Kiel (keyboardplayer for Sister Sledge(?!)) sent us along some of his Tolkien themed work he created for fun. Kiel is working with Toby and Cody McClure & Peter Bateman on ‘Born of Hope’, the fan film about Arathorn, Gilraen and little Aragorn, when the Dunedain were in peril. Fans of the Lord of the Rings films are making their own movie inspired by the trilogy – and none of them are getting paid for it. Orcs take a rest from filming in Epping Forest for a new chapter based on the epic trilogy, ‘The Lord Of The Rings’ Born Of Hope, which has a £25,000 budget, is being made in the UK. But the Middle Earth subject matter has attracted people from around the globe to join the team, including some of the film’s original cast and crew. When it is released, around November 2009, the low-budget production will be free to download on the internet. The film’s backers say the trailer from the test shoot in April 2006 has been well received at many conventions and exhibitions worldwide. Orcs Back: New Rings-Inspired Film

Kate writes: With principle photography having started in July and the release of their brand new trailer just weeks away the Lord of the Rings inspired film Born of Hope is leaping like a phoenix from the ashes. Since the test shoot over two years ago the website has been a little quiet for those eager to see the finished film but pre production has been quietly ticking over behind the scenes and now that the film is back in production things are really hotting up. Those who know about this ambitious feature film which follows the story of Aragorn’s parents will be excited to see all the new changes and additions to the website plus all the news and photos from the shoot in July.
