Frodo’s Girl writes: One of the biggest medieval fairs ever held in NZ is will take place on 29 -30 Nov, the weekend before the world premiere in downtown Wellington. It starts out with a parade on Saturday morning from Civic Square to Chaffers Park – the venue for the fair…..there’ll be knights on horses, stunt guys (some that worked on LOTR) and general medieval grog and festivities – looks like it is gonna be brilliant. So if you’re in Wellington for the Premiere, you should check it out. [More]

Lord of the Rings Monopoly Game by Hasbro Lord of the Rings Monopoly Game by Hasbro

The Lord of the Rings Trilogy Edition of Monoply combines the real estate gameplay of the world’s favorite board game with the characters and geography of Middle-earth. Take a journey through Middle-earth and lay claim to various territories, building strongholds (houses) and fortresses (hotels) as you compete against other players. The board contains familiar Monopoly elements such as ‘Go,’ ‘Free Parking,’ and ‘Jail’ and Lord of the Rings locations like Helm’s Deep, Isengard, and Weathertop, all against a map of Middle-earth. The Monopoly railroad locations have been replaced with Lord of the Rings horses — Brego, Shadowfax, Bill The Pony and Asfaloth. The set includes collectible Pewter game tokens of Aragorn, Frodo, Gimli, Galadriel, Gandalf and Legolas, and a gold-colored One Ring that can be used in a non-traditional version of the game. This great game has to be seen to be believed — truly an outstanding gift for a friend or for yourself!

It seems clear that a number of theaters have elected to put tickets on sale earlier than their published “sale date.” A notice on Fandango.com states, “Tickets to ‘The Lord of the Rings’ trilogy marathon, are now on sale at www.fandango.com at several Fandango partner theaters (not available on 1-800-FANDANGO) and the remaining theaters will be releasing tickets through the official onsale date of October 9th, 2003.” [Fandango]. Movietickets.com is also selling tickets for various locations. We advise checking to see if your theater is among those already selling these precious tickets. For more information, visit our Trilogy Tuesday details page. Good luck!

Soul-Blighter writes: It is that time of year again and I tried to put together a “budget” version of the wraith outfit. I documented the process and put it on a site and thought I would share that information with you all. Hopefully it will help somebody out there in making one for a cheaper price. [More]
