I met him this year at the Neuchatel Fantastic Film Festival, like there, he might be in the mood to draw something on whatever you put him on his desk (book – poster – notebook). You can even make a wish and he tries to draw as best as he can. I got a very nice “Gandalf the Grey” drawing with signature.
At first I asked him to draw an “Orc Army”, but for some strange reason he just wouldn’t hear my request … π For some folks he even drew “Smaug” or the “Grey Havens”, for others “Sauron” or “Saruman”

The Balrog writes: My friend *snip* is the Managing Director of an AMC theatre in *snip*. He told me that they were getting a ROTK screening on Nov 6th at 10:00am or so for 1 person only, a big exec from AOL/Time Warner. He doesn’t know who, but our guess is Ted Turner. I was curious if you had heard of any such thing. I had heard I think that they were still filming, and getting a print together on 11/6 seems unlikely, but I did go to a screening of Gladiator almost 6 months before it came out, so who knows.
