Lord of the Rhymes: Quickbeam and Bombadil
Hobbit rappers and international mega-stars (*cough*) Quickbeam (not our Quickbeam) and Bombadil, known to legions of fans worldwide as the Lords of the Rhymes, released their third single today, blowing the lid off of what had been an otherwise mediocre month in hobbit-rap record sales. LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) – With Christmas falling on a Thursday this year, “The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King” enjoyed a festive weekend at the international box office as its foreign total soared to $270 million in 12 days. The final episode of the J.R.R. Tolkien trilogy pulled in an estimated $83 million for the Friday-to-Sunday frame from 38 markets. Its overall total ranks 27% ahead of where last year’s “The Two Towers” was after 12 days and 73% ahead of “The Fellowship of the Ring” in 2001. [More]
