Sorry guys, this website didn’t organise a line to wait in for the cinema trailer. I know some of you would have sat out in the rain for an event like this.
The Daily Radar has a good report from a cinema trailer queue here if you feel you missed out.
Not that it’s very inviting outside here in NZ either right now. Our chance to see the trailer on the big screen starts tomorrow. Anyone in NZ forming a line? TheOneRing recommends ‘Kathmandu’ wet-weather gear for all outdoor Tolkien-related activities…
The Glass Hammer site has been updated with a story of my trip up to Sound Resources (the band’s recording studio) a short while ago. Apparently Middle-Earth is a lot closer than we think; check the story out and see for yourselves. There’s magic going on around this band, and a lot of it seems to be Tolkien-related.
Check it all out here.

Browsing through today’s (17JAN) Daily Telegraph in Sydney I spied an advertisement in the movie section of the paper. It is a quarter page ad for ‘Little Nicky’ and ‘Bring It On’, with the huge heading ‘The greatest event in movie history starts this week and lasts 1 minute 44 seconds’. Then a spiel about the LotR trailer commencing tomorrow with those movies.
Hobbit fans hurried over the weekend to New Line Cinema’s spruced-up “The Lord of the Rings” Web site featuring behind-the-scene snippets of the trilogy due to hit theaters by year-end. [More]
To get Rings fans psyched about the movie, and the film’s hot new web site, New Line Cinema and Digital City are teaming up to offer moviegoers some exclusive LOTR gifts — promotional T-shirts and a chance to win the grand prize of a Lord of the Rings 2001 wall calendar (valued at $300). [More]
Thanks to the lovely Wendy for the tip!
