Yesterday another Hobbit poster hit the internet, and it contains some great character images!  These dwarves we’ve seen before – though it’s nice to see them in active pose.  But who is that top left?  It’s none other than goblin Bolg, as confirmed by the Bridge Direct action figure.

Not listed in Bridge Direct’s recent release list, but included in Vivid’s list for release in Europe, is also a  ‘Yazneg’ goblin figure, but for now there’s no Azog.  Of course we’ve also seen Grinnah and Fimbul the Hunter with his warg; but those fellas seem to be Misty Mountain goblins, connected to the Goblin King, whereas Bolg and Yazneg are connected to the earlier Goblin Wars (with Bolg being the son of Azog, and Yazneg a character created for the movies).  So what does this tell us about what we can expect to see in the first film of these goblins and their battles with the dwarves?  Do these toy releases mean we won’t have to wait until the second (or even third) movie to learn more about the Goblin Wars?  Why don’t you join us in our message board forums to speculate?

Thanks to our friends at Tolkiendrim.com for the heads up on these European toy releases – see the full list over at their website.

October 1st marks a big day for fans awaiting collectibles of The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey. This day marks the day where companies can officially start selling products for the first of the films in this trilogy. Film Cells Ltd will at midnight start taking orders for their amazing film cell collectibles with stills from the first movie, and if you know about their The Lord of the Rings items you will want to make sure to get these. As you know figures from The Bridge Direct will start showing up in stores for fans to purchase on the spot. Finally, from the folks at Weta Workshop some of the amazing things we saw at Comic-Con will start showing up on their website. Just some of the things you might see from Weta on Monday include: Fine Art Collectible Sculptures, Authentic Prop Replicas, The Master Swordsmith’s Collection, Art Prints and Maps from the original artists, Jewelry, A series of books created by the artists at the heart of the film-making process, and much more.  Is your bank balance ready??

As we reported earlier this week it appears that figures from The Bridge Direct for The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey are starting to land in stores before their official October 1st release date. We showed you pictures of the Legolas and Tauriel figures which are part of wave 1. Today, rumors are starting to surface around the internet that Warner Bros. may be having these two figures pulled from this wave. Why? It would be a sign that these two characters will not be making an appearance in the first Hobbit film. If there’s any truth to the rumor, you may want to grab these two figures if you see them because their value on the secondary market could jump quiet high because they’ll be in the packaging for the first movie.
