Among the hoopla that defines Comic-Con 2007, Sideshow Collectibles announced three new LOTR Collectibles: The Sam and Frodo 12-inch figures and the Gandalf the White Premium Format Figure. The Sam and Frodo figures feature the newly developed ‘hobbit’ body allowing them to be displayed in scale with the other 12-inch figures. Today Weta Limited announced they will be creating, in collaboration with BBC Worldwide, a line of Collectible statues based on the popular television series, Doctor Who.
Doctor Who is produced by the BBC and is the longest-running science fiction television series in the world. It follows the adventures of a time-traveller called ‘the Doctor’, who travels time in a phone box, solving problems and righting wrongs. [More]
Sideshow Collectibles has started taking pre-orders for their latest Legendary Scale collectible. Gandalf the Grey is the fourth character in the line of Legendary Scale Lord of the Rings busts and the first human character to be offered. The piece stands approximately 14″ H (356mm) and will ship during the 4th quarter of this year. In July, Jane and the Dragon concept artists Frank Victoria and Rebekah Tisch will be blitzing the Weta Forums to answer all those question’s you’re dying to know on how the characters from the series came about.
