Warner Bros. Consumer Products announced tonight that Eaglemoss — makers of the collectible chess partworks and figurines — has the license to make these items for “The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey,” and “The Hobbit: There and Back Again.” This license also grants Eaglemoss the rights to make these collectibles for “The Lord of the Rings” trilogy. These collectibles are due to ship during the fourth quarter of this year and they will come with a magazine as well as valuable chess tips.

Today, in their ‘Road to Comic-Con 2012 Email Campaign,’ Sideshow Collectibles teased the next statue in The Lord of the Rings statue line. Making an appearance at Comic-Con, and later our collections, will be the Witch-king in True Form which can be paired with the Ringwraith statue Sideshow announced a few months back. The folks at Weta dropped big news on Ringers today with the announcement of their next The Lord of the Rings environment. In their own words they’ve decided to climb the Mount Everest of environments…that’s right fans… we’re going to get a chance to own Barad-Dur, made by those that conceptualized and created it for the trilogy.
