Oscar-winning actress Susan Sarandon, 60, is joining the cast of Peter Jackson’s film adaptation of Alice Sebold’s novel The Lovely Bones. Sarandon will play the character of Grandma Lynn, the mother of the character played by Rachel Weisz, show-business Variety newspaper reported. The Wellington-based production tells the story of a girl who is murdered but then continues to observe her family after her death. Ronan takes the role of Susie Salmon, the central character in Alice Sebold’s 2002 best-seller. The story is told through the voice of Susie Salmon, a young girl who is murdered but continues to observe her family on Earth after her death. She witnesses the impact of her death on her loved ones, while her killer skillfully covers his tracks and prepares to murder again. From computerandvideogames.com: Microsoft’s Shane Kim may have accidentally dropped more info on Peter Jackon’s mysterious Halo project, which he’s referred to as the Halo “animated series”. When asked if Bungie already has a post-Halo 3 project in line, the Microsoft Game Studios boss told GameSpy: “Oh yeah. Bungie has their plans well mapped out. You have to, when you have a studio like that, and you need to know what you’re moving your people on to. So they have the collaboration with Peter Jackson on the animated series. “I’m not sure about the specifics. They’ll be done with Halo 3 this year, but we haven’t announced any dates on the Halo 3 series.” [More]
