For the upcoming 87th Academy Awards, “The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies” has qualified and is eligible for nominations in the Best Original Score and Best Original Song categories.
114 film scores made the cut, including Howard Shore’s score for “The Battle of the Five Armies”. 79 songs qualified in this notoriously difficult category, including “The Last Goodbye” written by Billy Boyd, Philippa Boyens, and Fran Walsh.
