Do you use Facebook? Have you been looking for a really really cool Tolkien themed image to use as your timeline cover photo? Well…we are too! Since TheOneRing.net is in a unique position to reach out to thousands of creative Tolkien fans from all over the world, we thought it might be a novel idea to use that opportunity and create a comprehensive Tolkien themed Facebook cover photo gallery. After we have compiled all of the photos, we’ll publish them as a photo album on our Facebook page, which currently has over 50,000 fans! Here’s how to submit your photo:

  1. Photo must be 850px wide by 315px high
  2. Photo must be a JPG or PNG file (.jpg or .png)
  3. Photo should have TheOneRing.net logo on it somewhere (download it here)
  4. You must provide your name, email, photo caption and any other information you’d like us to post with your entry via the form below.

    hate to be a ‘debbie downer’ because this idea is so cool, but hasn’t facebook got a requirement for a cover photo that “this is not a cover photo that anyone else has”?  Not sure if they’re policing that or not.

      I thought when I first uploaded my cover photo that it told me it had to be my own photo & not a copyright, but now it just says: “We’ve found that people have a better experience viewing your timeline when they see a cover that is as unique and individualized as you are. This helps people learn more about you. It also helps us prevent spam, fake profiles, and other content that can detract from your experience on Facebook.” 
      Nothing in there says it’s against policy, but more that they just would much prefer people to use their own 😛

    Some of us have just circumvented the Sauron-goobered captcha by posting on the facebook page. I sent a message to them that it’s not working, perhaps others have also sent “not working” messages. The “Contact us” message page works (its captcha is ok)…
