It was a refreshing ‘blast from the past’ this morning when we noticed the MTV Movie Blog relaying the story of Uma Thurman turning down the role of Eowyn in The Lord of the Rings trilogy (BTW – She regrets the decision). A quick search of TORn’s news archives yielded some great old school speculation and casting rumors from 1999-2000 when it was believed that Uma Thurman and Ethan Hawke were all but guaranteed parts in the trilogy. This reporter personally thinks Miranda Otto was absolutely perfect for the role and did not want to see Uma in LOTR. How do you feel?
