Athena writes: If you guys missed Billy Crystal’s opening number (he sang about Each of the 5 nom’d pics for best Pic) I have compiled a transcript of his Song, based upon the the Sound of Music Song “Favorite Things”:

Hobbits with feet big and hairy and smelly
More epic battles than Gest and Minelli
Ian and Viggo, a Queen and some Kings
this is the gang in the Lord of the Rings

Frodo and Sam on a mystical planet
then Smeagol pops out like the right boob of Janet
Britney and JLo brought both of their flings
They thought it was called “The Return of the Rings”

Lithium, sake, some pills and peyote
Moonshine and britlan from Truman Capote
JRR Tolkien was taking these things
when he conceived of the Lord of the Rings

Peter Jackson made this trio.
He sure got it right.
I loved every frame of The Lord of the Rings.
So I downloaded it Last Night.
All Night
It took all night!
It’s so damn long!

wildezc writes: On the musicnotes.com ROTK sheet music page there is a son called “Use Well The Days,” it says music by Howard Shore, written by JRR Tokien, and performed by Annie Lennox! This song is obviously not in the movie, nor is it on the soundtrack. So where is it from? Maybe the EE? Could this simply be a mistake? [More]

urbanite clears it up for us: This song is on the internet edition of the ROTK soundtrack. It is the title of the documentary on the included DVD.

Ringer Spy oqwarrior sends along these very secret Return of the King DVD menu images. This, along with some DVD specs, is what we will most likely see released as the ‘major announcement’ on the Official Site tomorrow. Take a look! [More]

TORN LA Gathering 2004 Part III
Four Rings to Rule them All

I write this almost a full week after the events of the Oscar Party and Post-Oscar party have taken place. Most of the TORN staff have returned home and are exhausted, we worked our tails off making sure this party would go off without a hitch. And for the most part it did. Even though we spent most of our time in LA doing backbreaking jobs or working late into the night, we are all incredibly in a post-Oscar depression, the entire staff wants to go back! [More]
