MS writes: MidSouthCon 22 and DeepSouthCon 42, both conventions of some longevity, are combining this year to be held jointly in Memphis from March 26-28, 2004. Several guests, including James Swanger, the founder of the Middle Earth Gaming Association, and Dr. Amy H. Sturgis from Belmont University (“Harry Potter is a Hobbit”), will be speaking and participating in panel discussions. This is an annual convention covering both Fantasy and Science Fiction genres, and is attended by thousands of people. KathE and Stephen Walker, who run the convention, asked me to tell as many people as possible about Sean’s coming to speak, which was only confirmed just today; they now have him under contract to attend, barring any last-minute professional committment, or an emergency.
