Ringer Spy 3rdOrcfromthelef writes: Both the blue and green screens have been in use over the past two months for pick ups, reshoots and additional film.
An oliphaunt scene was shot recently with stunties, who are also back as Rohan warriors riding on Pelennor Fields. In fact, both screens are currently joined together as one enormous screen, specifically for shooting Pelennor. It is still ongoing, even though the wrap parties are being held over the next few days.

Lady Elira writes: Cate Blanchett was on V. Graham Norton last night and they talked aboout whether rumours that Cate took the job of Galadriel because of wearing the pointy elf ears was true. Cate said it was partly true. Then they did a funny sketch where the audience members had to show how their behaviour would change if they got the One Ring. And then with their other guests, Busted, they all dressed up as Hobbits and Gandalf at the end. It was really funny!

I dare claim that no work of litterature has inspired such a large and devoted following of readers as The Lord of the Rings. Tolkien societies abound around the world, people learn the invented languages of Middle Earth, and it has inspired some of the greatest movies ever made. [More]

I dare claim that no work of litterature has inspired such a large and devoted following of readers as The Lord of the Rings. Tolkien societies abound around the world, people learn the invented languages of Middle Earth, and it has inspired some of the greatest movies ever made.
The Lord of the Rings has even become one of the key books which teachers and librarians recommend to young adults to lead them towards adult literature.
What is it about this book that inspires all of this? This weekend in the Hall of Fire you get a chance to explain just what it is about this book and Middle Earth in general that fascinates you the most. Hobbits or elves? Maybe the epic battle between good and evil? Perhaps you are something of a philologist?
Or maybe John Ronald Reuel Tolkien knew something about the nature of stories and storytelling that few others truly have grasped?
Join us this weekend in #thehallofire and tell us what it is that fascinates you so in Middle Earth.
Upcoming Topics:
July 26-27: What fascinates you most about LoTR and Middle-earth?

Enyalie writes: I picked up a copy of the latest edition of Famous (Canadian theatre chain Famous Player’s in-house magazine). It had the attached article about the LOTR Musical in it. It’s a pretty tongue in cheek (I hope) look at who they would cast to star in the musical. [More]
