Super Ringer Spy Galadriel sends in some great insider info on the goings on in Helms Deep! [More]
Month: February 2000
Super Ringer Spy Galadriel scoops us in on some cool factoids about what’s been going on on the Helms Deep set:
The Helms Deep set is still full of action. This week the extras playing the Riders of Rohan have arrived, yet no horses have been on the set. Just spearmen and archers.
Viggo Mortensen (Aragorn) and Liv Tyler (Arwen) are the only star names on the set, yet they to have not been on the set all week, only their stuntmen.
John Rhys-Davies (Gimli) and Orlando Bloom (Legolas) are sheduled to arrive on set on Monday.
I will get more for you soon

Bernard Hill as ‘EJ’ in Titanic
I just saw British actor Bernard Hill on The Gloria Hunniford Show here in the UK proclaim that he was flying down to New Zeland to be in the Lord of the Rings films. He didn’t say what part he was going to play.
Check out his IMDB listing for more information.
More info as it floods in!
A few choice phone calls has Confirmed that Bernard Hill will be in LOTR yet we are not sure who he will be, word was (from a fuzzy UK pay phone) that Hill will play ‘Theodus, or something greek like that’, now, it’s time for you hard core Ringers to clear up the mystery, since we know Kevin Conway will play Theoden (and I asked, ‘are you sure it’s not THEODEN?’ , no, my contact replied) please drop me a line with your ideas!
Fellow Ring Master Jonny from www.therealmofthering.cjb.net sends in these small pics from Helms Deep, I’ve placed them all together into a nice single ‘collage’ 🙂

This is a rather cool article covering Peter Jackson’s previous work, check the details in our Official Peter Jackson Fan Club: The Bastards Have Landed. [ TBHL ]

Sometime this week STARZ! had a little news on LOTR. It was during their “Movie News” filler between movies. They were talking about movies due in the future. It was done from the perspective of New Line releases. They showed the conceptional artwork from the main site and had a brief commentary from a “Variety” writer. No discussion of cast. They mentioned the modest budget and Jackson’s ability to deliver a blockbuster in light of his limited resume.
I bet it was no more than a minute long. It’s supposed to be repeated tomorrow 2-18-00 at 7:30 PM EST.
Xoanon here,
If anyone gets the gusto to pop in a tape in your VCR and hit record and send it on over I’d love you for it 🙂
