Events and Entertainment
TheOneRing.net presents … Beecake!
If you attended our ‘The Return of the One Party’ back in 2004, you may remember a surprise, special performance from Pippin, aka Billy Boyd! This time, we’re very excited to announce that Billy and his band Beecake will be the headliners performing at our event!
Based in Glasgow, Scottish band Beecake are Billy Boyd (Vocals, Guitar), Billy Johnston (Guitar, Piano, Vocals) and Rick Martin (Bass, Vocals). Beecake was formed in late September 2006 over a bottle of malt whisky in a Glasgow bar, when the guys remembered how much they loved making music together. Beecake.com is where you’ll find out firsthand what’s happening in the world of Beecake, everything from tours to recordings and even special one off performances. We are thrilled that they have agreed to join us for ‘The One Expected Party’!
Emerald Rose Returns!
We are excited to bring back to the stage fan favorite Emerald Rose, at ‘The One Expected Party’! Brian Sullivan, Arthur Hinds, Larry Morris and Clyde Gilbert formed Emerald Rose in late 1996, and become fast friends with TheOneRing.net just a few years later, at Atlanta’s DragonCon.
Emerald Rose is a four-man folk rock band in the New Celtic tradition with a rich, original “world fusion” sound, with influences ranging from the Chieftains to Jethro Tull. Blending harmony vocals, pennywhistle, Irish pipes, world percussion, driving guitars and bass, their music ranges from traditional jigs and reels to original folk rock and pop numbers. Many of the band’s musical themes draw from Celtic myth and legend, but their style is modern, upbeat and accessible. Visit their official site at EmeraldRose.com.
Charles Ross – The One Man Lord of the Rings™
Like many Lord of the Rings fans, Canadian actor, playwright and self-proclaimed ‘professional geek’, Charles Ross fell in love with Tolkein’s trilogy at an early age. When it was announced that Peter Jackson would adapt the stories for film, he was again among many who felt excitement and worry about the film (would he screw it up? would someone stupid play Gandalf?) Thankfully no, and no. After the success of his One Man Star Wars Trilogy, people asked him what he would tackle next. He didn’t even blink. We at TheOneRing.net a privileged to host Charles on stage to add an additional level of excitement to our magical evening! Learn more about Charles at his official website onemanlotr.com.
More acts and entertainment will be announced shortly!
