Ryan Gage is from Great Britian. His acting career began in 1995 with an uncredited role as a young thief in the Sylvester Stallone’s version of Judge Dredd. Since then, he has had roles in a number of British TV series including The Bill, Hustle, Holyoaks and The Musketeers in which he plays king Louis XIII. His movie roles include Osric in the 2009 adaptation of Hamlet and Danny Hasting in Murder on the Home Front in 2013.
Ryan was cast as Alfrid, the conniving assistant to the Mayor of Laketown, in The Hobbit movies and will appear in both The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug and The Hobbit: There and Back Again. Per this quote from Peter Jackson: “Ryan is a great young actor who we originally cast in a small role, but we liked him so much, we promoted him to the much larger Alfrid part.”
