Shooting wrapping up gradually in New Zealand – and some clues for the next movies?

June 29, 2013 at 11:14 am by greendragon  -

Word reached us that Sir Ian McKellen shot his final scene as Gandalf on June 28th in Wellington, goodbye has also been said to Evangeline Lilly’s Tauriel, and now Orlando Bloom has finished his last day as Legolas.  Somehow it feels like the end of an era; and of course the cast and crew want to celebrate the journey they’ve been on together.  Peter Jackson posted this video – not tears but laughter as Legolas bids farewell! Also there’s some information about what Legolas might be doing in future films – SPOILER below the video!

Posted below the video, Jackson writes:
‘A day after saying goodbye to Gandalf and Tauriel, it was time to farewell Legolas. What a great day it was, with Orlando battling a serious Orc for all 12 hours of shooting – part of the Battle of the 5 Armies for the third Hobbit movie.’

Looks like the elf prince will fight alongside his father in There and Back Again! Not really a surprise, but interesting to know; and one can’t help wondering if he’ll encounter his future friend’s father, Gloin, on the battlefield?

Thanks for Ringer spies MrHollandsays and shoni for the heads up!
