Guillermo del Toro was born October 9, in Guadalajara Jalisco, Mexico. He dreamed of being a filmmaker and went on to create a formidable catalog of movies that includes Cronos (1993), The Devil’s Backbone(2001), two Hellboy films (2004 and 2008) and Pan’s Labyrinth (2006). He is a co-writer of the two forthcoming films based on J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Hobbit.
