You can’t just walk into Mordor, and, these days, you can’t just walk into the store and pick up a quality Lord of the Rings title for your console like it’s 2003. Since Peter Jackson’s The Fellowship of the Ring in 2001, there have been twelve LOTR games, fourteen if you count expansions and EA’s (sadly) canned The White Council, not to mention free, browser-based games, board games, card games, and all the other ways publishers have sought to monetize the property.
