It turns out the multi-talented Dominic Monaghan is a photographer as well as an accomplished actor and singer. Contactmusic.com reports that his photo exhibition, entitled “Happy Accidents,” will run from March 14 to April 27, 2008 at Hamilton-Selway Fine Art in West Hollywood.
“Happy Accidents refers to those moments where you don’t expect what is going to happen, but it ends up being something good.”

HOME TIME – putting children in the frame, Leading children’s charity Barnardo’s and a host of well known faces have joined forces with acclaimed photographer Cambridge Jones in a pioneering bid to find permanent homes for the thousands of children awaiting adoption across the UK. Home Time – photography finding a home is an innovative and exciting exhibition which highlights just some of the thousands of children in the care system who have nowhere to call home.
Their stories are the focus of a new exhibition which opens at the Getty Images Gallery in London on April 24. High profile names such as Cherie Blair, Mario Testino, Gail Porter, Sam Taylor-Wood, Laura Bailey, Andrew Lincoln, Claudia Winkleman and Sean Bean have so far offered to become guest photographers for the day to get a snapshot of their lives. Board member diedye alerted us to this article at “Varsity” about a new book by Sir Ian McKellen and an appearance he’s making at The Octagon this Monday:
“Sir Ian McKellen is launching a new book about the Marlowe Society, of which he was President whilst reading English at Cambridge in the Sixties. He’s written the foreword, and now he wants to talk. The voice on the other end of the telephone line is eerily familiar, and terribly grand. McKellen is keen to discuss the book: “It is important for wider readership because of the influence the Marlowe Society has had on the professional theatre world,” he observes – an influence largely to do with their “shared approach” to the Elizabethan dramatic verse that is their area of interest.
Premier Magazine has taken a stab at ranking the top 100 sexiest movie stars of all time and Viggo Mortensen ranked a very respectible 23! Kristin Thompson has a wonderful new article up outlining the success of ‘The Golden Compass’ overseas, and more relevant to Tolkien fans, news about the New Line Logo appearing before the ‘Hobbit’ project:
This tends to confirm what previous coverage has hinted: that New Line will be allowed to make The Hobbit itself (in a co-production with MGM) rather than turning the project over to Warner Bros. This, coupled with Anne Thompson’s recent remarks that Mark Ordesky will likely supervise The Hobbit and its untitled companion film, suggests that fans may have less to worry about than they thought. Time Warner and Warner Bros. may recognize that it’s best not to tamper with success. Keeping the circumstances for this new project as close to those of the LOTR trilogy as possible offers the best chance for lightning to strike twice.
