RAVE MOTION PICTURES HICKORY CREEK 16 TO SPONSOR DENTON COUNTY MHMR TOY AND FOOD DRIVE IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE LORD OF THE RINGS: THE TWO TOWERS PROMOTION
HICKORY CREEK, Texas – RAVE MOTION PICTURES is proud to announce sponsorship of Denton County Mental Health and Mental Retardation’s toy and food drive “Holiday Helping Hands.” Beginning Dec. 1 a donation of either one new, unwrapped toy or two non-perishable food items can be made at the theater in exchange for a coupon good for one free small popcorn. The donor’s name will also be entered in a drawing for various other prizes including a package of 10 free movie passes. Donations will be taken until Dec. 20. Winners will be posted the evening of Dec. 21.
This is all leading up to Hickory Creek 16’s “ONE NIGHT TO RULE THEM ALL.” This is a one-night extravaganza on Dec. 21 celebrating one of the most anticipated sequels of all time, New Line Cinema’s “The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers,” the second edition to J.R.R. Tolkien’s world renowned trilogy and follow-up to 2001’s four-time Academy Award winner The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring. The third installment, “The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King” comes to theaters in December 2003.
“One Night to Rule Them All” festivities will take place between 6 p.m. and 11 p.m. The theater staff is preparing right now, constructing 18-feet tall paper mache replicas of the TWO TOWERS to be displayed in the lobby and a 10-foot tall window painting including the film’s logo and main characters. For the night, staff members will be dressed as various characters from the movies and as other hobbits and elves. On hand will be a local medieval acting troop performing sword fights exhibitions and a fabulous face painter. Lord of the Rings and Tolkien trivia contests will be held before each “Two Towers” showing during the allotted hours.
Advance tickets will be available at the box office or online at RaveMotionPictures beginning Nov. 22.
