The article I saw also said that advance ticket sales were very strong and that a performance similar to “Titanic” is not impossible. Please take the above with a pinch of salt until somebody with a better command of Japanese can confirm for certain. Also, I was passing a movie theater on Sunday and all the LOTR shows were sold out hours in advance – and that’s in a relatively quiet town to the
west of Tokyo! I also found a separate site that shows that Lord of the Rings was the #1 movie in Japan this weekend. [More]
