From Our Super Ringer Spy Glaurung comes our very first look at some armor!! It’s a Rohan Warrior Shield!!
The emblem in the middle is the rear quarter of a horse (4 in a circle).
There is a strap with buckle to allow the shiled to be worn rather than carried.
There is a handgrip in the middle and a stirrup on the lower left quarter to allow protection while riding.

Sorry to say it, but The Hall of Fire is cancelled for this weekend. We’ll be back in action with a great chat next weekend, October 14 & 15, with a topic about the role of fate in the work of JRR Tolkien.

Forget the E-word, the polls we’ve been following are the ones on a number of other film websites, which are posing questions such as ‘Which film are you most anticipating next year?’ LOTR scores pretty highly in all these polls, and we’re pleased to report that over at TheForce.net the film that people are most interested in (other than the next Star Wars, of course – it’s a Star Wars site) – is The Lord of the Rings, with a massive 41% of the vote.
