This comes from our good friend Brandon Gray at BoxOfficeMojo.com:

Industry tracking numbers for ‘The Two Towers’ are through the roof (as expected). The movie’s at an 99% awareness level among the public and over 80% have it as their first choice to see among all movies in release and coming out this weekend. These are ‘Harry Potter’-level tracking numbers — basically as highly rated as a movie can be. The biggest opening ever for an approximately three hour movie was posted by ‘Pearl Harbor’ on Memorial Day weekend in 2001 — $59,078,912 at 3,214 theaters. Its tracking levels were nearly as high as ‘The Two Towers’ — which bows at around 3,600 theaters — suggesting that ‘The Fellowship of the Ring’s $47,211,490 December opening weekend record could very well be in danger.

Many thanks to Ringer Spy Cinderz for sending us the file so we could confirm this!

Cathy writes: MTV2 is running an hour-long episode of “Artist Favorites” with Elijah Wood hosting and playing his favorite music videos. According to the MTV2 website, the show is to be shown several times throughout December.
