Sezzy writes: On August 22, 23 and 24 repectively there will be showings of Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring, Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers and Heavenly Creatures, organised in conjunction with Stockholm Film Festival 2003. The difference is that these showings are outdoors (Gälarvarvet on beautiful Djurgården in the centre of Stockholm, Sweden). All showings start at 8pm and are free entry.

SANTA FE, N.M. — A Santa Fe-based conservation group, Forest Guardians, reports receiving a substantial donation from actress Cate Blanchett. The director of Forest Guardians, John Horning, declined to disclose the amount. Blanchett said she made the donation to help preserve New Mexico’s natural splendor. [More]
