A few months back Aint-It-Cool-News reported that 3 mysterious cast members have been cast but he did not know who. We later learned that one of them was Kevin Conway. We were told he was going to play Theoden, king of Rohan.

All attempts to confirm this were thwarted by the fact that Kevin Conway’s people were unknown to me. So we all took it as red that Conway would be playing Theoden.

A few weeks back TheOneRing.net learned that Bernard Hill would be involved in LOTR as well, and this time, my contacts told me it may be something like Theodus, as it now turns out, this may actually be Theoden.

Very reliable sources tell me that Hill may be playing Theoden and not Denethor or anyone else as previously thought.

This begs the question, who will Conway play? Denethor?

what is your view on this? Send me an email

Galadriel has struck again! Our favorite Ninja Assassin is on the job, the body count is rising but the news is droolable! We now have filming location info, Craig Parker casting confirmation, future casting news and PJ’s CAMEO!!! this is smastastic news! Read on!

oh ancient one,

It is I Galadriel…I was doing my usual duties when a elderly woman approached me and begged me to follow her into an alley.

Once there she slipped me an envelope containing a photo and a name, as well as a letter containing info on how I could collect my fee.

My target…yet again…may be something of interest to you. He’s involved with this project of yours, so I needed to follow him to get his sleep patterns, daily schedule, and so on.

I first traced him to the Miramar set in Wellington, after placing a bug on him I overheard that the studio had become an exact replica of the Helms Deep set down at that quarry. Apparently that quarry set has not been used since last Thursday, so they are all here now.

Christopher Lee (Saruman) and Ian McKellen (Gandalf) are there and so are a large group of Elves, they are marching. After killing a few guards for info, I learned that they’ll be filming day scenes for a while.

I also learned (after considerable amount of torture) that the production has something in the range of 8 or more 3000$ (US) wigs for our ‘Elvish hero’ Orlando Bloom (Legolas). So no mohawk for that boy.

So, I followed my target all the way to his private office using suction cups on the ceiling and he never noticed a thing (the poor fellow) I was going to off him then and there but something caught my eye, it seems that rumors are true and Craig Parker has been cast as Haldir, sure enough, I saw it on a piece of paper as I was dangling over his shoulder.

I also saw some info regarding Celeborn, the husband of my namesake. His casting description calls for a ‘Strong and prominent facial structure…narrow eyeline with long face’ (hey that’s me PJ!!!! -xo).

But this is what you’ll really like…

Celeborn HAS been cast, yet the name will only be made public on April 4th so keep an eye out for that one.

So I then slipped down behind him and grabbed him by the neck, I injected him with truth serum and asked him a burning question for you.

‘What scene will PJ cameo in!’

‘ach…I cannot….ohh….the…the…The Prancing Pony Inn!!!

Yet, like his other films, he will not play anyone of importance, just a walk on part.

So there you go, don’t tell me I never do any favors for you. As a Koga Ninja assassin, I should kill you after getting this information, but my job here keeps me busy enough.

The rest of my story if for me and my Gods…until later.

Keep an eye open,

Galadriel

Harry Knowles from AICN gives his review of the LOTR footage that was screened:

The center of the screen bursts out with red turmoiling fire in as a rectangle divides the screen… deep red flames within. Elvish lettering forms… It’s the ‘ring writing’. An announcer’s voice booms something to the effect of… “IT IS THE MOST WIDELY READ BOOK OF THE 20th CENTURY” and how it has never been brought to life on screen. (and most Tolkein fans would probably agree to that statement)

Glimpses of the 45 minute sell-video that Peter Jackson prepared to sell the series to NEW LINE appear. Gollum moving… sad and depressing. A pitiful creation with soultorn eyes. It is my feeling that this is the greatest cg character [More]

Super Ringer Spy Tony the Cat sends in the latest from ‘Wellywood’

When I arrived in Wellington, one of my sources gave me some interesting info about those New Line vp’s that arrived the other day. I got my hands on their schedule.

It seems that they made a visit to the Helms Deep set Thursday night. The next day I saw them arrive at the Camperdown studios (WETA), and if I’m not mistaken they had a little party with Barrie Osborne. It seems that a lot of actors were also present like Brad Dourif (Grima), Ian Holm (Bilbo) and Miranda Otto (Eowyn).

On a more iteresting note, when I was around the studios friday I saw some glimpses of a set. My guess is it was Lorien-set, because I saw them moving in some setprops, one of wich looked (in my opinion) very much like the mirror of Galadriel.

Also there was some activity with fake-trees.

Thanks Tony! That was Grrrreeat! (Sorry, I had to)
