For these films he has won three Academy Awards, two Golden Globes and five Grammy Awards. In 2003, Shore compressed the music from the trilogy into a two-hour symphony titled “The Lord of the Rings Symphony.” The six-movement work premiered in November 2003 in Wellington, New Zealand, and has since been performed more than 40 times.
