November 10, 2005 – Electronic Arts revealed today that actor Hugo Weaving will once again reprise his role as Lord Elrond for its upcoming RTS sequel The Lord of the Rings: The Battle for Middle-earth II. Weaving played the elven leader in Peter Jackson’s acclaimed movie trilogy. In the game, Weaving will assume the role of overall voice narrator who will “[guide] players in and out of each good and evil mission within the single player campaigns.” In addition, Weaving’s Lord Elrond character will engage in battles were never represented in the film adaptations. It was a great moment for fans like me who have followed the novels since long before the films came into being. I first met Bilbo Baggins in the spring of 1974. British author J.R.R.
