The stars are arriving in Wellington for the world premiere of the final Lord of the Rings film. Three hobbits and Gandalf the wizard flew in to join actor Viggo Mortensen, who is already in the capital. Elijah Wood, who plays Frodo Baggins, says he is delighted the world premiere is in Wellington. “It’ll be a joyous occasion for everyone in New Zealand. I think everyone here is very proud of the film, so it’s fantastic that the last one will be here.” [More]

Neale writes: Australian cinema chains Greater Union/Birch Carrol and Coyle, Village and Hoyts will be selling tickets to “Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King” as of tomorrow, Thursday Nov 27th. RotK commences it’s theatrical run in Australian on Dec 26th 2003. Tickets can be purchased from any GU/BCC oh Hoyts cinema or from their websites. Gold Class sessions at GU/BCC cinemas will go on sale on Dec 11th.
