Just got this from a Ringer fan in the UK:

Trailer is showing in all Showcase Cinema sites in UK, I know because I work in the Projection Booth at one of the sites (Yes I get to watch it several times a day ). Albeight some prints arrived late due to the trailer having to be put on the front of the Lost Soul’s feature.

We are also getting reports from across the US that matinee showings of ’13 days’ did not have the LOTR Trailer. If that is the case, ask for your money back!

1. UPDATE Looks like the UK does have the trailer in front of ‘Lost Souls’ in at least some areas and maybe only at UGC theater chains. Matt just reported in that the trailer is NOT showing in Warner Cinemas in London. (Warner Village West End on Leicester Square) Robert , however, HAS seen the trailer at the UGC Cinema in Sheffield.

2. If you are from Finland, check out the trailer in front of ‘Red Planet’ on Jan 19th!

3. UPDATE The correct info for the trailer in Norway is Jan 12th – 18th in front of ‘Sleepwalkers’, and Jan 19th-25th in front of ‘Vertical Limit’. Thanks to Øystein for the tip and clarification!

For the current listing of trailer release dates and countries, check out our Previews section.

Harry over at AICN must have got his hands on a copy of the LOTR teaser trailer, out in theaters today. He has a very detailed scene by scene description of the trailer. So whats the verdict? Well, he says, “It is just good. Not very good.” [More]

From: Matt

Well, me and a friend got to the cinema (the Warner Village in Plymouth UK), bought our tickets for Lost Souls, sat down and waited. We got the Almost Famous trailer, followed by the Hannibal trailer…then the film started!! We walked out understandably gutted.

The guy who took our tickets was very apologtic and gave us a refund whilst sending off a guy to find out if they even had the trailer. It turns out they didn’t even have a copy of the trailer, and had no idea that it was supposed to be attached to ‘Lost souls’ only, when we first came out he originaly said ‘It’ll probably be on Cast Away’ then.

They had no idea that the trailer was being advertised with LS, both in mags and on radio. As we left they were about to phone the local radio and ask them to mention that the trailer won’t be in until next week at the earliest, and I think they were going to get on to the UK New Line distributors to find out what had happened to their copy.

They were also going to put up a big sign in the foyer saying that they didn’t have the trailer!! I don”t think they want to spend the rest of today giving out refunds!

I’m guessing that this hasn’t happend at every cinema in the UK, but the moral is, if you’re going just to see it…phone ahead to make sure it’s there!

Ringer Spy Martin sends in sad word from Ireland.

Really bad news from Ireland. The trailer will not be on Castaway or any film here.

Here’s a snippet from a mail I recieved from another Irish ringer who did all the legwork on this one.

This is the authoritative word on the Trailer. It will NOT be shown in Ireland. I rang Abbey films in Dublin who distribute New line films in Ireland and a very helpful man there explained to me that the Irish Film censors board will not certificate a trailer until they have seen the film.

Since this won’t be possible until mid November at the earliest there is no chance of the trailer being shown.

Ringer Spy David H sends along the link that will house the new LOTR Trailer starting from January 19th. Make sure you bookmark this baby! [More]
