Great news Hall of Fire fans! Gandalf has sent me the next topic up for discussion:
Tolkien Inspirations: How has Tolkien inspired you?
Does Tolkien move you? The Professor’s work has made a profound impression on millions of fans over the decades, and this Saturday we’ll explore the impact Tolkien has had on our lives. In big ways and small, we’d like to know how JRRT has affected you.
Has Tolkien inspired your art or music? The way you feel about nature? Perhaps your career or hobby centers around Tolkien. Or on a simpler level, what character do you feel the closest to and why? Make sure you bring your tissues for what should be an emotional chat. π
Special thanks to Ringer fan Earsul for this topic!!

Hullo Tolkien friends,
A new Hall of Fire topic is selected and ready for next weekend! This time we’ll explore the possibilities of a frightening scenario: What would have happened if Frodo had succumbed to his wound inflicted by the Lord of the Nazgul? What would have been the fate of the One Ring? Who might have been chosen as the Ringbearer? Could Frodo have gone over to the side of darkness? Let us know what you think this weekend!
Thanks to those of you who’ve made Hall of Fire a great success. We’ve had some large groups at these live discussions, and your participation has been fantastic! Please send any feedback and topic suggestions to one of us and we’ll do our best to keep the conversation flowing. Gandalf, Gamgee, Balin, and I are at your service.
If you missed one or haven’t been to a Hall of Fire chat yet, check out the logs of prior discussions here.
Hope to see you this weekend!

Good day Middle Earth companions!
Our good proprietor Barliman sent me a letter from the ubiquitous Gandalf, this time *without* delays! Read what the wizard has brewed for Saturday….
The Silmarils: What would have happened if Feanor had given the Silmarils to the valar for healing the Two Trees of Valinor? Would Morgoth have made war on the valar? Perhaps he would have just counted his losses and gone on to some new evil? Bring your copy of The Silmarillion and get ready for another round of The Hall of Fire!
Join Gandalf, Balin, and Gamgee this Saturday, January 29th, at our new time, 5:30 EST.
Special thanks to Berendir for this week’s topic!
Thanks Tookish,
Yours in haste,
Gandalf
