A new chapter of Merry’s Story Session has arrived! They finally come to the mountain… And the homepage URL has changed again. Have you been a character in the story yet? More]

Now that Summer’s in full flight, what better way to spend some of your free time then coming to the Hall of Fire this weekend! And this week we’ve got another great topic up for debate.

Favorite Human Warriors

Unlike elves, humans have short lifespans, yet gave unstintingly of themselves to help rid evil from Middle-earth. There are so many: Hurin, Turin and Huor; Barahir and Beren; Aragorn; Haleth, Eowyn…what drove these characters? Who is your favorite and why?

Come on down to The Hall of Fire to talk some serious Tolkien as we explore these characters and their motivation together. We offer three sessions and newcomers are always welcome!

Strider

Arguably one of Middle-earths greatest heros, in this chapter we get to see a glimps of the greatness that is embodied in Strider. From the moment the four hobbits come into contact with him, Strider proves his worth. Longshanks indeed!!

Curunir is spending the next week counseling at a church camp for 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders, and he’d like your help.

Recipients of mail are required to sing or perform a stunt to receive their mail at the camp – a rule which goes over much better when the counselors receive a lot of mail. The greater the volume of mail, the greater the “humiliation” for the counselor…and the more fun the kids have with it all.

So, help us humiliate Curunir! If you can spare a few minutes, and change for a stamp, please send Cur a note at:

Jason Wakeland
Exodus I Camp, Pilgrim Park
26449 1340 North Avenue
Princeton, IL 61356-8790

Friday, the 29th of June, will be the last day for them to receive mail at the camp, so if you’d like to join in, please try to be sure the letter is in the post by Tuesday the 26th, if you’re in the US, and Saturday the 23rd if you’re overseas.

Curunir thanks you!

The Hall of Fire continues to bring on the chats! This weekend our topic is sure to tickle all you hobbit fanatics.

Hobbits… Their History, Their Leadership, Their Way of Life

We’re going deep into Hobbit lore this weekend, as we fully explore what we know about these amazing people. From hairy toes to smoke rings, six meals a day and the giving of mathoms, there is much to relish in these people who are short in stature but so big in our hearts. Come join with us as we explore what I personally feel is Tolkien’s finest creation!
