Confirmed: Elijah Wood not in The Battle of the Five Armies

November 1, 2014 at 9:58 pm by Demosthenes  -

DJEWood As we speculated just a couple of weeks ago, Elijah Wood will not be in the final Hobbit film, The Battle of the Five Armies.

Wood himself confirmed the news last night on UK television.

Since Ian Holm is in the cast list on the official press releases for the production, it seems certain there will still be a flash-forward at the end to “present-day” time sometime during the events of The Lord of the Rings film.

What’s still unclear is whether this will be just around the time of the Long Expected Party, and if it will be just an Ian Holm monologue, or whether other cast (such as McKellen, or Stott) will feature.
