Hollywood star Orlando Bloom has been seen out and about in Wellington, joining a growing number of Hobbit actors arriving in the city as production resumes after a three-month hiatus.

Wellingtonians Miranda Webster, Aggie Galloway, Kayla Carruthers, Sam Walton and Hannah Robson met Bloom yesterday when they saw him shopping in the central city.

Ms Carruthers, 19, said she and her friends were on Vivian St when they saw Bloom go into a photography store.

There is nothing that can compare with Peter Jackson’s vision on film of an author such as J.R. R. Tolkien’s imagination in the written word.  Harry Potter does not come close to the majesty and wonder that Peter Jackson has been able to convey via the translation of the written word to film.  I cannot possibly convey the gratitude I feel towards Peter Jackson and all those responsible for bringing to me (and to the rest of you) the realization of words I have read to the screen.  I thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Um, is it just me or is the a bad pic. Orlando has his face turned to the right. Doesn’t even look like him. This looks like someone’s brother or something. If you never told me it was Orlando, I would have never know. The one taking the pic must have looked at it at one point after it was shot and thought, “Gaaaah, he turned away!” I’m surprised it was even posted as him unless I’m missing something?

    Maybe it wan’t him?

It’s definitely him. Too bad for them that he wasn’t smiling at the camera but that doesn’t take away the thrill of meeting him I’m sure. Very cool!
