Hugo Weaving as Red Skull? Hobbit Implications?

March 14, 2010 at 10:48 am by Calisuri  - is reporting that Hugo Weaving, aka Elrond from The Lord of the Rings films, is in talks to play the villain Red Skull in the upcoming ‘Captain America‘ movie. If Hugo takes the role, he would be reuniting with director Joe Johnston (Wolfman). The film is expected to be released July 2011. What does this mean for Hugo’s involvement in the upcoming ‘Hobbit’ films? Your guess is as good as ours, but with the continuing rumblings that the first Hobbit film will not be released until Dec 2012, this may have no effect at all on his availability.
