Schindlers List was a daunting 3hrs 15 mins, Titanic was three hours 14 mins and Gangs Of New York was two hours 45mins long. However, the Lord Of The Rings trilogy makes all these look like a walk in the park, because when shown back-to-back cinema fanatics can expect to be sitting upright for a bum-numbing nine hours and 36 minutes.
