Lord of the Rings model maker James Bryson has won the right to a Supreme Court hearing over an employment law case said to threaten the New Zealand film industry. Mr Bryson had wanted to take a personal grievance case against his former employer, Lord of the Rings production company Three Foot Six. He could pursue the case only if he was an employee, but the company which made him redundant said he was an independent contractor.
