BEVERLY HILLS (California) Feb 10 – “Lord of the Rings” mastermind Peter Jackson said Monday he was thrilled that his last hobbit movie is leading the Oscars race, but disappointed that its star Sean Astin was not nominated. The 42-year-old best director-nominee said he was delighted that the last episode in his film trilogy “The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King” was vying for 11 Oscars when the awards are handed out later this month. “As a filmmaker you make films and obviously it’s not about awards, but I think (an Oscar) would be an incredible honour that you will never have again,” the New Zealander told journalists at a luncheon for Academy Award nominees.
