Jamie Selkirk, editor of The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King, told SCI FI Wire that the final three-hour, 20-minute movie was trimmed down from an earlier cut that ran more than four and a half hours. “It was really difficult, because we had a lot of very key stuff to actually still get in within the story,” Selkirk said in an interview. “We actually had to build the emotion of the story through the battle action.” [More]
