Sad news for the people who ordered the Sideshow/WETA Orthanc Environment. Due to the high occurrence of breakage in the piece after testing Sideshow decided they could only build it in a manner that would not do justice to Alan Lee’s design so they decided to cancel the plans for the Environment. The parts of the environment that were having the most problems were the spikes and details on the base. On the bright side though: Sideshow has generously offered a 10% discount on any other LOTR-item for customers that pre-ordered the Orthanc Environment!
Ringer Miradan sends us news that Amazon.com is now pre-ordering The Two Towers soundtrack. Both the standard edition and ‘limited edition‘ will be available December 10th, 2002. [More] For some more specifics on these releases, check our report from 10/25/02.

Many fans have written to express their lack of enthusiasm for latest TTT poster to appear on the official website. (I’m personally in love with the teaser poster myself…) Ringer spy Tim sends us news that the poster released yesterday may not actually be the ‘final’ theatrical The Two Towers poster.
“I have a friend who works at an art gallery which also deals with posters, and according to the documents sent to him by Alliance Atlantis, the final poster will be more in the style of the final poster for Fellowship and won’t arrive until closer to the films release. I can’t wait to see what glory awaits us later on in december.“
So there we have it.
