I’m a computer tech at in Milwaukee, Wisconsin (USA). Probably because Marquette is a Jesuit Catholic institiution we happen to have our own Tolkien collection here. Some of his original manuscripts, sketches, etc.
I’ve never seen it wtih my own eyes but I heard through the grapevine that the university is planning an exhibition of some sort due to the films coming out. If I hear anything more about it I’ll let you guys know so you can tell others. Perhaps there will be a pilgrimage of mid-westerners to MU just to browse the Tolkien goodies!

Thought you’d like to know, if you don’t already, that the New Line Auction site has in their ‘coming soon’ section a mention and picture of a production slate from the LOTR pics with the information from the last scene shot still on it. [More]
Check out the latest update on E!’s ‘Force of Hobbit’. There is some very cool Howard Shore score news! [More]
There’s part of an interview with LOTR screenwriter Philippa Boyens in the latest Cinescape magazine – scroll down to the bottom of the front page.
Thanks to Adam for that.
UK Ringers are going to have a feast of TV docos about Tolkien. This came in today thanks to the folks at the South Bank Show:
“Just a quick word that The South Bank Show in the UK is producing a Tolkien special due to be broadcast on ITV1 in the UK on December 16 (three days before the world premiere of the movie of The Lord of the Rings in Leicester Square). We have already filmed a long, in-depth interview with Peter Jackson before he returned to New Zealand, and one with Ted Nasmith at the opening of his exhibition here in London last week. We will hopefully have interviews with cast members, and behind-the-scenes footage that Mr Jackson has kindly promised us.”
