Ringer Spy Jers sends along word of an article from New Zealand’s ‘Export News’.

Talking of premieres and celebrations, TORN would like to see Tolkien fans have their own ‘Fellowship’ bash on the 19th, right here in New Zealand. It should be a big glamour event, given that we’ve got a chance to have the first public screenings in the world (it’s the dateline thing acting in our favour!) Ideas, suggestions, and expressions of interest to tehanu@theonering.net – we need to get an idea of numbers. Meanwhile, watch this space.

According to NZ’s ‘Onfilm’ magazine, the NZ premiere is expected to take place in the famous old Embassy theatre in Wellington on the 19th. Peter Jackson is a trustee of the theatre. Some of the stars are supposedly coming back for the celebrations in NZ. Meanwhile New Line boss is quoted in the Evening Post as being ‘thrilled’ with the finished rough cut of the first movie. “…he was pleased artistically and commercially” according to EP Mark Ordesky.

For a while it seemed like the trailer was never going to show up in Ireland. We got an email today to say “The trailer is here. It’s on Tomb Raider at least in the Savoy in O’Connell street.”

Thanks to Dave for that!

Thanks to Chris, who pointed us to the ‘CD Now’ website where you can get Howard Shore’s soundtrack to ‘The Score.’ They have little ‘try before you buy’ downloads. Not sure if this will give any hint of what he might be writing for LOTR though. [More]
