The UK’s SFX magazine has a two-page spread of pics and a piece on Cannes–the trailer footage contains some “jaw-droppingly imaginative cinematic images”.

It is the weekend for most of us, so why the heck are we still working away? Because TORn never rests! Ringer Spy Big Jerk has sent in three more images for us to drool over. Check out black and white stand-up images of Saruman, a Ringwraith and another Uruk-hai. !SPOILERS! [More]

Ringer Spy Big Jerk checks back in with some great black and white images today. The Saruman and the Ringwraith images are most likely the same prints which manufacturers will use producing the cardboard stand-ups. (Yesterday we saw the Frodo, Aragorn and Hobbit stand-up images in more detail) I’m not sure about you folks, but I think the Ringwraith stand-up will make a wonderful low-cost home security device.

The other image is of an Uruk-Hai. I really do give credit to whoever had to stay in that costume during a long day of filming. That sure looks uncomfortable!

Bruce Campbell (Ash!) mentioned bilbo in the first chapter of his book (after the foreword page one) here’s the quote, in context)

IF Chins Could Kill, Confession of a B movie Actor
By Bruce Campbell

“Bilbo Baggins would have felt right at home in my neighborhood- It was a magical place. “The Braes of Bloomfield” was created by commuters hoping to get away from the faded glory of Motor City, and the results were impressive. As a kid exploring the woods between these upper-middle-class homes, the city might as well have been a million miles away.”

Our good pals from Corona Comming Attractions has posted news that there will be a new FOTR poster coming soon! HRM…I’ll get my feelers out there this weekend… (Scroll down to the bottom) [More]

“Im from Australia and was just listening to an English show on pay-tv Foxtel called ‘The Antique Roadshow’,where people bring in old things from home to get it evaluated and a selling price. An old lady caught my attention when she brought in a ‘first edition’ copy of the hobbit. That would fetch a price itself, but inside was a ‘postcard?’ (thats what they called it) that had a introduction personally written and signed by J.R.R. Tolkien, sitting inside the front cover! These two items, both in good condition were evaluated to be worth more than 2,500 (English Pounds.)” Thanks GS for the story!
