One more sleep

March 28, 2001 at 8:34 am by leo  -

While most the world will enjoy ‘The Fellowship of the Ring’ on December 19th, it seems that kiwis will have to wait a full week later to see what the fuss is all about.

While everyone else enjoys Christmas Day this year, Lord of the Rings fans will still be muttering “just one more sleep to go.” Why?

Because the movie’s going on general release here Boxing Day (december 26th, leo). The film’s distributors have named the day for the New Zealand premiere of the first in the trilogy.

But they won’t say whether Boxing Day will also be the international debut.

It’s not clear if screenings may be held overseas before New Zealand gets to see it.
