lol, couldn’t help myself. The truth to the matter is, a good friend of mine at CNN has told me that today’s edition of ‘Showbiz Today’ (4 pm et) will have a small something on LOTR. This is something different than the simply the John-Rhys Davies confirmation.

But, my contact strongly warns me that it might not appear today, but in all likely hood it will. So get your VCR’s ready and send me a downloadable verson!

UPDATE – Alas they did not show the goods. My contact tells me that perhaps CNNfn will air it. I have asked him if we might see it tomorrow, but in any case, keep your eyes peeled and send me any info you may have!

Xoanon here,

I’ve been getting a million letters about this poll going on for best book. You all seem upset that LOTR is not #1 (jeez, and Guinness calls SW fans obsessive!)

Anyways, go here and vote, something to do on a slow news day anyways..

No, no revealing news in it (stay here for that!) but this article, written by Angela Gunn for Seattle Weekly (www.seattleweekly.com) is really in depth, and most of all it concerns us! Netizens!

Gunn really knows her stuff, be sure to look out for the Balrog Wing debate mentioned! here’s a snippet:

Will the Net make–or break–the fantasy legacy of J.R.R. Tolkien?

Peter Jackson is teasing his Internet stalkers unmercifully. It’s probably the only thing to do when you’ve got tens of thousands of them spying on you, criticizing you, questioning your judgment, and threatening you with dire consequences if you mess around with the elves or the dwarves or the hobbits.

Jackson is directing the new three-movie version of The Lord of the Rings, one of the most beloved books of the century. With a $360 million budget it’s the second-largest production ever. Think that’s scary? The online fan base is ravening for information and input. With all that’s at stake, playing coy with the Net is like sticking a hand in the lion’s cage

Orlando\? Is that you\?

Well, this is my best guess folks for what Orlando Bloom (Legolas) looks like. He is referred to as “rentboy” in the 1998 movie Wilde. And well, if you know the definition of a rentboy and you have seen the movie, I think you would agree this is the only ‘rentboy’ without a name that would get credit as such. Remember, we do not know what Mr. Bloom looks like, so this is just an educated guess!

If you can confirm this picture please email xoanon@theonering.net. In them meantime, visit the Orlando Bloom cast page here.

Xoanon here,

Although I haven’t seen it yet, AICN has reported that the John Rhys-Davies is confirmed as Gimli and that unknown actor Orlando Bloom is confirmed as Legolas!!

Head on over to our Cast Page to see their bio’s!
