Little birds tell me that the theatrical edition of The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies is available now for digital download on Apple iTunes. Makes sense: March 3 was the advertised release date for the digital version.
I don’t use the service myself so I can’t check, but those keen to grab a digital copy right away might like to point their web browser in the direction of Apple’s service.

Update: Some non-USA regions seem to have later release dates even for the digital edition. Here are those that I have so far:
Australia: March 26
UK and Ireland: April 6
Germany: April 10
Denmark: April 14
