[Demosthenes] Next scene: “I will not hide while others fight our battles.”
[FatherGregorian] Yes I do Papagianni. I just don’t care.
[Demosthenes] Angry little man. Umm .. dwarf.
[butterfly] Aidan’s bringing it!
[perry] This is Tauriel’s influence on Fili.
[Rantsu] Loving the emotional weight it gives to the whole Thorin-Fili-Kili thing.
[AzogTheDefiler] That troll character is quite intriguing
[Feanor] I’m wondering what will happen to Radagast. He’s a Maia so he probably don’t die. Maia with bird poo on his head, but still a Maia.
[thatJustin] That elf has poisoned his mind
[Demosthenes] perry: i think it’s Kili growing up. Independence.
[Half-Elf] So is that Orcrist that Legolas is using when he is fighting the orcs in Laketown?
[butterfly] I love Kili’s outburst
[gothmog] yes half-elf
[Demosthenes] part of that is rebellion. Or at least not toeing the party line.
[jenniearcheo] Parallel arguments between these two and Tauriel/Thranduil.
[butterfly] I think being left behind did a number on him πŸ™
[Barry_barrowwight] He’s growing up, coming into his own.
[AmydaughterofBev] Quick nod to the trolls coming over the hill in sync with percussion…fantastic.
[perry] Yes, Demo, but he is learning independence from T, I think.
[smaugth3drag0n] I agree Dem. He no longer belongs in the shadow of Thorin Oakenshield.
[FatherGregorian] Kili’s voice almost cracked
[butterfly] I love watching this bit in reaction videos, too
[Demosthenes] It also kinda mirrors Fili in DOS. Although Kili goes a step further.
[Demosthenes] Active rebellion not a passive act.
[AzogTheDefiler] Maybe the battle started outside and Thorin decides to cower inside the mountain and Kili clearly agrees
[butterfly] He looks really angry and upset πŸ™
[Puma] and kili is not the heir of thorin
[Puma] dwarves only go by paternal line
[smaugth3drag0n] He must be talking about the elves outside with their arrows doing battle when they are hiding inside Erebor…possibly
[Puma] so another lapse in the pjverse
[Demosthenes] Yes, i am not sure whether that makes that scene more dramatic or less.
[FatherGregorian] Thorin is bringing them all to ruin. And they were the only ones who trusted him πŸ™
[gothmog] so who is the heir puma
[smaugth3drag0n] Good point FG.
[perry] Men and Elves turn their attention from Dwarves to Orcs, and Thorin refuses to join.
[butterfly] Fili and Kili ARE his heirs
[Demosthenes] Fili is. But Fili has already gone against Thorin.
[Puma] dain was the heir if thorin had no children
[AmydaughterofBev] Perry-I agree. Very plausible.
[butterfly] No, only if Fili and Kili die
[butterfly] Well…
[smaugth3drag0n] Wait…what? Seriously, Puma? I never knew that,
[Puma] yes..seriously
[jenniearcheo] Yeah
[Feanor] The moment when Thorin and his company get into battle after hiding in Erebor, in their golden armor, is my favorite moment in the book.
[Demosthenes] I think that this comes after bilbo has left them.
[smaugth3drag0n] huh.
[butterfly] Richard Armitage said Fili and Kili are in line to the throne
[butterfly] Fili especially
[Puma] but they are not but in the pjverse
[gothmog] in the films they are
[thatJustin] is that line early in the film or later?
[Demosthenes] Not so interested in canon today, Puma
[perry] So did Thorin – You will be King some day – to Fili
[FatherGregorian] I bet Beorn rips off Azog’s head..
[jenniearcheo] It’s not clear that we’ll get the Descendant of Rats confrontation in the film.
[jenniearcheo] It may be that Bilbo doesn’t come back in the film
[jenniearcheo] We shall see
[Rantsu] Remember, in AUJ Thorin said that Dalin rejected the quest.
[AzogTheDefiler] The movies donΒ΄t setup the antagonism between Thorin and Azog just to have Beorn kill him…
[gothmog] dain** rantsu
[Rantsu] *Dain
[jenniearcheo] Dain said he wouldn’t come. Either he gets a message (feathered or not) or he changes his mind
[Rantsu] Indeed.

BotFATrailer61

[Demosthenes] Ok, so … we get Bard with the black arrow. and the master seemingly fleeing?
[perry] I agree Azog. Thorin has to kill Azog.
[butterfly] I reckon Kili’s outburst is part of a bigger speech
[gothmog] thorin will kill azog
[Rantsu] But yes, in a symbolic way, he kinda gave up his claim.
[Demosthenes] We’re back to Lake-town
[gothmog] pj has confirmed a fight between beorn and bolg
[jenniearcheo] Clearly laketown, not Dale
[FatherGregorian] I feel like Azog will kill Thorin, to complete the circle
[jenniearcheo] I don’t think The Master makes it to Dale, frankly
[gothmog] i would prefer if azog killed thorin
[jenniearcheo] He certainly doesn’t in the book
[Demosthenes] One of the very few Lake-town scenes in the trailer.
[gothmog] i want thorin to have no redemption
[jenniearcheo] Will The Master make it out of town at all, is the question
[Demosthenes] jennie: i think you’re right.
[AzogTheDefiler] The master will probably die in Lake Town there were pictures of Alfrid with the refugeesin Dale
[perry] No. Disagree. Azog cannot Kill Thorin – though it sure looks like he is killing him. Maybe Bolg.
[Feanor] I disagree that Thorin has to kill Azog, I think it will be the opposite. But Azog does (probably) kill Tauriel so he has his share.
[Papagianni] jenniearcheo i agree but Alfrid survives
[Demosthenes] And yes, we have seen Alfrid with bard later.
[jenniearcheo] In the book, there’s a political kebbielebbie on the shore afterwards. I wonder if we’ll see that
[Feanor] Legolas is killing Bolg, that I’m sure.
[Demosthenes] only if the master survives
[AzogTheDefiler] They might kill each other. Thorin kills Azog and is left mortally wounded
[Demosthenes] hard to know what will happen to him
[FatherGregorian] That would really stink if Thorin kills Azog. That’d be really lame. It should be the other way around.
[perry] To have Thorin killed in battle defending, is one thing, to have Azog kill him goes against the grain. Itmakes Azog the victor. But mayber you;re right – they kill each other.
[gothmog] beorn will kill bolg i think
[gothmog] hopefully we will see movie verse legolas fail for once
[PhillipF_Greece] heres a fact about Dain,he rules the lonely mountain after Thori’s death and somewhere before the lord of the rings period Sauron visits him and tries to make him go and fight alongside mordor in the war of the ring as an exchange of the Thrains magic ring the last of the seven magic rings of the dwarves(which if u have seen DOS extended u would see that)
[jenniearcheo] I’ll be sorry to not see The Master’s political downfall if he merely gets a physical one
[Demosthenes] If the writers knock off the master in lake-town then … bard is the automatic and immediate choice.
[AzogTheDefiler] True Demosthenes
[gothmog] yes sauron sends i believe its the mouth of sauron puma? to erebor to tempt them
[Rantsu] There might be some public confrontation between Bard and The Master.
[AmydaughterofBev] Looking forward to Beorn’s part to play in the battle.
[Demosthenes] Alfrid does not seem to have the requisite persona to work against bard. he’s just a schemer.
[jenniearcheo] Alfrid is a toadie
[AzogTheDefiler] In the preview video we see Bard commanding the man of Lake Town
[Demosthenes] yah
[TheArkenstone] I wanna see the master of laketown follow in Denethor’s footsteps. (running off a precipice engulfed in flames)
[jenniearcheo] Without a Master, he’s nothing
[jenniearcheo] I want to see the remaining Laketown folk deliberately choose Bard over The Master.
[FatherGregorian] I agree with TheArkenstone
[smaugth3drag0n] agreed
[jenniearcheo] If he perishes in flames, we lose that.
[jenniearcheo] And are left with the idea that if he had survived, Bard might not have been in charge.
[Rantsu] In DOS, Bard publicly stands against Thorin’s quest
[thatJustin] Alfrid has a significant role in this film from what I’ve hears
[Rantsu] People of Lake-Town did see that.
