Mr Stephen Raw is visiting the US 28 July – 12 August 2010 on a one-off visit to promote the only limited edition prints of the original drawings of the maps used in all editions since the revised version of 1994.

He is particularly interested in talking to Tolkien enthusiasts and sharing his experience of the year-long process of re-drawing the maps under the tutelage of Christopher Tolkien (see attached description from the book). He has an extensive archive of letters and faxes from Christopher while they worked on perfecting the maps which are so integral to the world depicted in ‘The Lord of the Rings’.

The maps have been sold to collectors all over the world: England, France, Germany, Netherlands, the USA, Hong Kong and Australia. The British Library has recently bought a set of Raw’s ‘Lord of the Rings’ maps to add to their world-renowned extensive map collection and are currently on display at their summer exhibition in London, “Magnificant Maps”.

There is still an opportunity to purchase a set of maps authorized and strictly limited to 500 copies by The Tolkien Estate. Meeting him in person will enable Stephen to add any special dedication to the sets if requested – this he has been asked to do on many occasions, especially if the set is for a gift or presentation.

A date and time for a Powerpoint lecture, given by Mr Raw, can be arranged in advance. Please contact his US agent on 347 754 1390 (New York) for availablity or for individual meetings/appointments that may be considered for New York residents.
